General Counsel

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, the General Counsel will provide strategic legal guidance and support to our organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide legal advice and counsel to BPMI management on all matters affecting the organization, including government contracting, employment law, and labor relations.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with BPMI management to develop and implement company policies, procedures, and business practices.
- Interface with company management, provide support to the BPMI Board of Directors as needed, and confer and negotiate with attorneys representing other companies and with the Government and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP).
- Advise BPMI management on export control matters, including federal regulations and licensing under International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
- Provide counsel in prevention, handling, and settlement of lawsuits, charges, and claims.
- Advise on the legal aspects and implications of federal and state laws and regulations affecting the BPMI organization.
- Support EEO and Environmental, Safety, and Health program objectives.
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school program plus 10+ years' experience as an attorney representing a corporation, the U.S. Government, U.S. Government contractor, or other related corporate law experience.
- Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, or the ability to obtain Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License within 6 months.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
BPMI is a project engineering organization supporting the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We provide design, manufacturing, and supply chain management of the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of nuclear power plant components installed in submarines and aircraft carriers. In addition, BPMI provides upgraded replacement components in support of refueling and overhaul activities, and aids in the ultimate storage and disposition of spent naval fuel. BPMI also delivers information technology and operational solutions to the Nuclear Navy, enabling them to fulfill their critical mission.
