Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lactation Education Manager to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for maintaining standards of practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurse Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing's Social Policy Statement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternal child health and lactation consulting, with a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience. A Bachelor's degree in nursing is required, and a Master's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred. Certification as a Lactation Consultant by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) is also required.
As a Lactation Education Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing lactation education programs for patients and healthcare professionals
- Providing consultation and education to patients and healthcare professionals on breastfeeding and lactation
- Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding
- Maintaining professional practice standards and clinical expertise
- Participating in performance improvement and research activities
