Position Overview
The Radiologic Technologist will support interventional specialists in various procedures related to interventional Radiology and Vascular surgery, including but not limited to oncology, vascular, and trauma cases. The role requires proficiency in managing supplies and instrumentation pertinent to interventional practices. The technologist will assist physicians in both scrub and circulating capacities.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Maintain Work Area**: Report equipment maintenance issues, monitor supply levels, and adhere to Infection Prevention protocols by utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. **Professional Standards**: Maintain licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Stay updated with departmental training and demonstrate a positive attitude through courteous communication with colleagues and patients.
3. **Customer Service**: Understand the importance of providing excellent service to both internal and external customers. Participate in clinical activities to assist with patient flow and optimize throughput in Radiology Transport.
Compliance and Communication
Adhere to timekeeping rules, avoiding unauthorized entries. Follow departmental procedures to ensure compliance with life safety, fire, hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Prevention standards. Attend staff meetings and engage in daily huddles to remain informed about departmental updates.
Experience and Education Requirements
1-2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cardiovascular Interventional Technology is preferred. Candidates must be graduates of an AMA-approved program for Diagnostic Radiology and be registry eligible. A New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) license is required upon hire. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is also necessary. This position may require flexible hours from Monday to Friday as needed.
