Role Summary:
CWI seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to deliver Horticulture courses in alignment with institutional policies and standards. The ideal candidate will utilize the Blackboard learning management system for various instructional tasks, including grading and communication. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as classes may be held during weekdays, evenings, or weekends across multiple campus locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a designated credit load of courses as outlined in the CWI catalog.
- Implement outcomes assessment measures to evaluate student learning.
- Engage in instructional evaluation processes to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Ensure timely attendance at all scheduled classes and communicate any changes promptly.
- Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in accordance with institutional deadlines.
- Exhibit understanding and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either an Associate's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of five years of proven experience in the horticulture industry. Teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred. The ability to adapt to various teaching methodologies, including lectures, group activities, and technology-enhanced instruction, is essential. A commitment to ongoing professional development and proficiency in relevant software applications is also required.
