Job SummaryThe Certified Medical Assistant will function as an integral member of our healthcare team, providing direct patient care and supporting administrative duties. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Assist medical and nursing staff with various tasks, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine administrative duties, such as answering telephones, updating patient records, and scheduling appointments.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Prepare patients for x-rays, tests, and procedures, and take electrocardiograms.
- Authorize drug refills, telephone prescriptions to pharmacies, and draw blood.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA is required.
- BLS Certification is required.
This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. The successful candidate will be based in Cary, NC, and will work closely with our interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
