About the Position:We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Reimbursement Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes and coding standards, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coding and Data Entry: Assign medical codes to diagnoses and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines. Enter patient information into the billing system.
- Claims Processing: Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies. Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Billing Discrepancies: Respond to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and internal staff. Resolve billing discrepancies and address any issues promptly.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures. Update patient records with accurate insurance information.
- Payment Reconciliation: Post payments received from insurance companies and patients to the appropriate accounts. Reconcile discrepancies and report any issues to the billing manager.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in coding and billing regulations. Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare laws and regulations.
We are looking for a skilled professional with the following qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in medical billing and coding is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and coding. Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact professionally with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes.
