Adjunct Instructor: Electrical Systems

St. Charles Community College is dedicated to fostering student achievement and serving a diverse community. We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of Part-time Educator: Electricity and Electronics. This position involves teaching courses within the Electricity and Electronics certificate and degree programs, which may include lectures and laboratory sessions. Scheduling may vary, with classes offered during the day, evening, or on weekends based on demand.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both theoretical and practical training in the following areas. The instructor will design and implement educational content that aligns with industry standards in Electricity and Electronics.
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate degree with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, a Journeyman Electrician License, or a certificate in Electricity and/or Electronics
- At least one year of teaching or training experience in the last decade within the Electricity and Electronics field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics from an ABET-accredited institution, or a closely related field, or a Master Electrician License
- Graduate-level coursework in Electricity/Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline
- Three years of teaching or training experience coupled with three years of industry experience in Electricity/Electrical Engineering and Electronics or a related area within the last decade
- Experience in an educational environment
- Relevant certifications such as EIT, PE, CTP, PgMP, CSEP, PLC, SCADA, CEM, CAD, or similar are preferred
