The Vascular Sonographer plays a crucial role in the assessment of vascular health through the application of advanced ultrasound techniques. This position requires a keen understanding of vascular anatomy and physiology to effectively perform diagnostic imaging.
Certification Requirements- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as per Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards.
- Valid NH State licensure for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy is mandatory.
- Conduct noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations to evaluate blood flow and tissue characteristics.
- Perform a variety of vascular studies including Carotid Duplex, peripheral arterial physiologic assessments, and venous duplex imaging.
- Manage and prioritize workload effectively to meet departmental standards.
- Adapt to evolving clinical scenarios and patient needs during examinations.
- Document patient data and maintain accurate records of tests performed.
- Ensure proper coding for tests and facilitate charge submissions.
- Utilize and care for departmental and hospital imaging equipment.
- Engage in departmental initiatives and contribute to team objectives.
- Take accountability for personal performance and professional development.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care and possess the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
