Professional Project Manager - Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our engineering team in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

About the Job

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and overseeing various engineering projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Project Coordination: Develop and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for diverse projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical expertise to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Site Visits: Perform site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure quality control.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Professional Development: Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD.
  • Additional Training: Advanced Training in Maintenance of Traffic (Temporary Traffic Control).
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  • AASHTO Guide: Working knowledge and experience with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Guide on Geometric Design.
  • DOT Knowledge: Intimate knowledge of a Department of Transportation including their policies, practices, and applicable.
  • Industry Standards: Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management and team leadership.
  • Technical Writing: Proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
  • Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with construction processes and materials.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

  • Sitting: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed.
