Job Overview:


This role involves the essential task of conducting intermediate-level diagnostics and repair operations on our fleet of tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power machinery at various locations using a mobile service vehicle.

The position may require working outdoors under varying weather conditions and across different shifts, including nights and weekends, in addition to potential overtime; regular attendance is crucial.


Detailed Responsibilities:

Core Duties:

Carry out intermediate troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities, which encompass, but are not limited to, tire changes/repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical system diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on trailer chassis and sub-frames.

Diagnose and rectify issues with the ABS system
Maintain proper inventory of truck supplies
May support the training and mentoring of new Tractor Technician apprentices
Adhere to all safety protocols while working at various locations
Operate the assigned service vehicle professionally and in accordance with company standards; ensure the vehicle is clean and adequately stocked
Complete work orders and other documentation accurately as per established guidelines
Document any damage to company assets to facilitate the recovery of repair costs

Exhibit proficiency in using cutting torches and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and brackets.

Seal and repair holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs to ensure they are watertight
Conduct annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections and sign off on them

Work Schedule:
Sunday-Wednesday 6AM to 4:30PM

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least

Minimum Qualifications:

18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000lbs
1 year of experience in Semi-Tractor/Trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent education and experience
Must possess a clean driving record as per company standards
Basic tools are necessary for this role, and employees are generally expected to provide their own tools. Options for tool acquisition may be available through a toolbox purchase program.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; 1-3 years of experience in Semi-Trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent education and experience
Commercial Driver's License
DOT certification in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes
At least 1 year of experience in federal highway inspections and air brakes
Welding certification
Forklift certification and experience
EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet physical demands (lift/move items up to 50 pounds)
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to read and comprehend documents in English
Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is between $23.15– $34.73 per hour.

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates residing outside a specified distance from the job location.

Compensation Overview:


Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, location, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may qualify for annual bonuses and incentives based on company profitability or volumes, in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable.

The Company provides the following benefits for full-time roles, subject to eligibility requirements: medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off based on tenure (including vacation and sick leave), two weeks of paid parental leave, and six paid holidays each year.
