Position Summary

The Healthcare Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting with patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This entry-level position is essential for ensuring that patients receive safe and high-quality care tailored to their specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of patient care activities, adhering to the age-specific requirements of each patient.
  • Support patients with their daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
  • Conduct limited data collection and documentation as directed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of unit supplies and equipment.
  • Facilitate patient transport and respond to communication requests, including call lights and telephones.
  • Work in a 12-hour shift schedule.

Available Shifts

  • Part-Time Day Shifts
  • Part-Time Night Shifts

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Nursing students who have completed their first semester of clinicals are required.
  • Certification as a Nurse Assistant in the state is mandatory.
  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute care setting is required.
  • Completion of the Franciscan Patient Care Technician In-training program is necessary.

Travel is seldom required for this position.
