Job Summary

The Warehouse Materials Associate II is a key member of the Carilion Clinic team, responsible for ensuring the smooth receipt and storage of materials in the warehouse. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, identifying and documenting any damage or discrepancies.
  • Sort and stock materials in a timely and efficient manner, utilizing inventory management systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to requesters, end-users, and other warehouse teams, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with the inventory team to identify and address items that require priority receiving, such as patient-specific or rush orders.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to accurately enter received item quantities and document discrepancies, ensuring seamless order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a well-organized delivery record system, preventing loss of goods and providing documentation of transfer of liability.
  • Efficiently resolve order-related inquiries and requests within service portal software, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Stock items using inventory management systems, accurately and consistently creating and maintaining back stock processes.
  • Perform scheduled and as-needed quality assurance activities, inspecting and maintaining the cleanliness of inventory racks, bins, and labels.
  • Escalate item discrepancies, order-delivery inconsistencies, and quality standard exceptions to leadership, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing disruptions.
  • Load and unload medical items from Carilion vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance and safe securing of specimens, medicines, equipment, or documents.
  • Transport and deliver items to correct destinations in a timely manner, adhering to routing specifications and fleet operations regulations.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance and safety inspections, ensuring vehicle safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a valid Virginia driver's license and health card, adhering to Carilion policy requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse setting, utilizing non-powered and powered equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Experience with warehouse requisitioning and order picking, as well as operation of a large commercial vehicle (non-CDL).
  • Valid VA driver's license with positive driving record required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including critical thinking, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language.
  • Proficiency in standard warehouse equipment, including forklifts, personal lift devices, and power jacks.
  • Customer service orientation and basic computerization skills, with ability to utilize inventory management systems, email communication systems, and customer service portals.
