Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or Registered Pharmacist to provide support in the dispensing of medications and other related duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures and aseptic technique.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense additives for IV and irrigating solutions
- Mix IV additive solutions as required using aseptic technique with the laminar air flow hood
- Type and label prescriptions
- Prepare and file charge slips
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- State Certification/Licensure as required by state
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Basic understanding of the role of and use of a computer in the processing of prescription orders
- Proven experience with maintaining positive relationships with coworkers and customers
