Position Summary:

The Lead Mechanic plays a crucial role in managing maintenance and production processes, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role involves hands-on work with various production machinery, troubleshooting issues, executing repairs, and performing routine maintenance.

  • Uphold strict safety standards, including Lock Out Tag Out protocols.
  • Execute urgent repairs during production runs and carry out scheduled maintenance on machinery.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  • Interpret equipment manuals and schematics to facilitate maintenance tasks.
  • Keep precise records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Optimize resource management and maintain operational control.
  • Provide training for new hires and support in machinery diagnostics and repairs.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance techniques, electric motors, and machinery systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and product specifications, operate a forklift, and perform basic math.
