Responsibilities
  • Accurately document patient information, including status, care rendered, and provider orders.
  • Refill medications according to ARC protocols.
  • Prepare patients for provider exams, including taking and documenting vital signs.
  • Follow clinic protocols and directions from nursing team leaders or supervisors.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including EKGs, audiograms, and visual screenings.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stocking and expiration dates.
  • Review and assist with daily medication refill requests using the ARC protocol.
  • Review EPIC triage call-in baskets for callbacks.
  • Clean patient rooms as needed, including handling dirty laundry.
  • Ensure laundry carts are stocked with fresh linens daily.
  • Assist providers with sigmoidoscopy exams and cardiac stress testing.
  • Maintain equipment, including autoclaves and sterilization.
Qualifications

LVN:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with graduation from an accredited school of vocational nursing.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas and current AHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card required.

Staff Medical Assistant:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant experience, CNA/EMT/PCT experience, or graduation from a medical assistant program.
  • Preferred: six months or more experience as a Medical Assistant.
Requirements

LVN:

  • Ability to engage others, listen, and adapt response to meet others' needs.
  • Ability to align own actions with those of other team members committed to common goals.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a professional manner at all times.

Staff Medical Assistant:

  • Ability to administer medications and injections within scope of position within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent phone listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
