School Nurse

Amergis is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care to students in a school setting. As a School Nurse, you will be responsible for applying the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs, while also providing services in accordance with Amergis' philosophy, standards, policies, and physician orders.
Key Responsibilities- Student Care Planning: Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs, including the provision of skill nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders and Individualized Health Plans (IHPs).
- Service Coordination: Coordinate and facilitate services as requested between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources to meet the needs of students.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate with school district personnel about student plans of care and IHPs, and collaborate with school/education personnel and other health agencies as requested to design and meet student health care needs.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete documentation per client expectations and maintain accuracy in student health records.
- Professional Practice: Adhere to Amergis Healthcare and school district policies, as well as standards of nursing practice, patient care, and accrediting bodies (The Joint Commission).
- Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited registered, practical, or vocational nursing program, and licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational, or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing.
- Experience: One year of professional experience, preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in the English language, computer skills, and ability to effectively elicit and provide information to and from appropriate individuals.
- Certifications and Training: Current CPR, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable, and participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program.
