About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at the Turquoise Ridge complex. As a key member of our electrical department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering design, calculations, and analyses to develop electrical equipment specifications, standards, and procedures.
  • Assess and provide supervision of major shutdown activities related to critical electrical equipment.
  • Organize and document all aspects of RCA and RCM analyses, including meeting, doing the analysis, verifying, and drawing factual conclusions about why undesirable events occur.
  • Develop and track measures that define success for each study. Publish results for upper management review.
  • Perform computer-related functions such as drawings, spreadsheets, and database compilations.
  • Provide technical knowledge and field troubleshooting skills for power distribution, electrical controls, and instrumentation systems, and components.
  • Provide safety leadership and responsibility in the Electrical Department through training and education of Electrical personnel.
  • Responsible for providing quality work, which includes internal and external customer satisfaction, quality processes/procedures, and quality equipment/tools.
  • Facilitate on-going maintenance of the power distribution high, medium, and low voltage switchgear, 5KV motors, and their control systems.
  • Must be able to interface and communicate effectively with customers through performance of field investigations in response to customers' needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of electrical maintenance strategies and plans.
  • Management of Engineering Design consultants including all design activities.
  • Provide input to design consultants to ensure the design meets operating requirements and permitting requirements.
  • Assist in tendering and awarding engineering design requirements.
  • Ensure the engineering design schedule is managed to meet the construction schedule requirements.
  • Provide oversight for the construction and commissioning of all process-related projects and systems.
  • Aid with contractor supervision.
  • Ensure correct operating procedures are followed regarding safety, environmental, and project objectives.
  • Ensure all mineral processing project aspects are carried out in a manner that will meet or exceed Nevada Gold Mines values and vision.
  • Implement project delivery systems and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all project management systems including document control integrity, contractor management, scope change control, provide oversight during commission, provide oversight for process equipment procurement, maintain project within approved scope, work closely with civil and mechanical capital project management to integrate engineering, design, and construction activities and project administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) expertise required.
  • Licensed as a professional engineer in USA or Canada preferred.
  • Experience with project management preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of electrical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable codes, standards, and acceptable industry practices.
  • Must have excellent technical knowledge of electrical and process control systems, including a thorough knowledge of electrical theory with experience in both AC and DC circuitry and motors, the ability to read and understand electrical schematics, logic, and connection drawings, PLC experience, knowledge in medium and low voltage environments, experience in motor switchgear, control, and solid-state drives.
  • Minimum of three years field experience in maintenance and/or project engineering required.
  • Experience with managing contractors and contract management required.
  • Be able to work overtime under urgent requests or under reasonable notifications.
  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the highest commitment to health and safety.
  • Ability to utilize electronic systems and the use of Microsoft Office products required.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • SAP applications preferred.
  • E-Tap power system analysis software experience preferred.
