Position Overview:

Amentum is seeking qualified candidates for several Senior Computer Scientist roles to support Cyber Security & Information Assurance (CSIA) initiatives. This position involves providing essential services to enhance the operational capabilities of the Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) and its associated programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze system requirements and develop operational software subsystems.
  • Create and manage software applications while evaluating emerging technologies.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python to develop tools, automate processes, and implement innovative analysis techniques.
  • Gather requirements, design, and code systems for digital dissemination and production tracking.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, transitioning legacy programs to modern languages and integrating new functionalities like XML.
  • Lead cost evaluations for the incremental release of business intelligence and cloud technology enhancements.
  • Revise existing Java applications to include GUI and XML service implementations, as well as redesign compute architectures.
  • Configure networking devices such as routers and switches, along with encryption solutions as needed.
  • Develop new products and address practical computing challenges.
  • Conduct research through experimentation and modeling.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of programmers, IT professionals, and engineers to solve complex problems and innovate new products.
  • Oversee and maintain district SharePoint environments as applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in programming Encryption Algorithms, including design experience with Reprogrammable Single Chip Encryptor (RESCUE).
  • Familiarity with the NSA Certification process for cryptographic products.
  • At least 10 years of experience with Tactical Secure Voice Cryptographic Interoperability Specification (TSVCIS).
  • Expertise in real-time operating systems, distributed systems, performance analysis, database design, and resource utilization assessment.
  • Strong background in machine and assembly languages, with advanced experience in software engineering for various computing platforms.
  • Proficiency in requirements analysis, design methodologies, database design, documentation standards, and DOD software policies.
  • Possession of an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance, with US Citizenship required for clearance eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Army CIO/G6 programmatic requirements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience within C5ISR and CSIA environments.
