Position Summary
We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to be a crucial contributor in the development of our cutting-edge satellite systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our skilled software and hardware teams, as well as engage with our satellite clients. This position offers the chance to work on pioneering projects that significantly impact the future of the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in client interactions, assessing and negotiating diverse technical proposals and solutions for satellite systems and their components.
- Define system specifications, liaising with end users to grasp their requirements, and guiding projects through their complete lifecycle.
- Utilize your expertise to refine project goals, ensuring they align with client expectations and facilitating effective decision-making throughout the development stages.
- Communicate product and mission technical requirements clearly, translating high-level customer visions into a detailed set of technical features and product criteria.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, electronics, computer science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and development of nanosatellites or small satellites.
- Comprehensive knowledge of satellite systems, including key subsystems such as communication, power, and propulsion.
- Proven experience in translating high-level technical needs into precise system and subsystem requirements in collaboration with clients and engineering teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create visual representations (e.g., schematics, sequences, state diagrams).
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for satellite design and analysis, such as SolidWorks.
- Experience in analyzing mission budgets, including power, link, and delta-V.
- Familiarity with orbit simulation tools like STK and GMAT.
- Experience with DFMEA methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.
- Understanding of UML/SysML.
- Project and risk management skills.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
