Position Overview

SAIC is in search of a dedicated Electronics Technician to join our team. This role is based entirely on-site and is crucial for our operations.

The Electronics Technician will play a key role in conducting in-house evaluations, troubleshooting, and calibrating both sub-assemblies and complete systems that are produced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, assemblies, and final products produced by the manufacturing team.
  • Conduct various tests using established protocols, prepare test specimens, operate equipment, record test data, and identify discrepancies caused by equipment failures or observational mistakes.
  • Assist in the enhancement, testing, and assessment of new equipment as it becomes available.
  • Provide accurate reports on the performance of current designs.
  • Evaluate assemblies and final systems, interpret evaluation results, and document any malfunctions.
  • Support Manufacturing and Engineering by conveying technical insights regarding equipment issues and solutions.
  • Adhere to and promote all company policies, departmental standards, and quality control measures.
  • Perform rework and repairs on assemblies as needed.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED along with formal training in electronics.
  • Extensive knowledge of both digital and analog circuitry, DSP technology, microprocessors, and D/A control devices.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic testing instruments, including oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, meggers, and signal generators.
  • Required soldering skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and verbal communication abilities, capable of interacting well with colleagues and clients.
  • Able to translate technical jargon into understandable terms.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Interim or Secret Security Clearance and the capability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with CMPro, Jira, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of ISTQB national testing standards and certification.
