Job Purpose:

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing clinical support services and maintaining patient care documentation in medical records. This position is responsible for delivering professional care to Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology patients in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register new patients and assist during medical procedures.
  • Take vital signs, schedule external labs, and request necessary clinical documents.
  • Update medical records, organize examination rooms, and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Dispose of contaminated supplies, follow up on patient calls, and schedule appointments.
  • Coordinate dictation schedules, verify health insurance coverage, and perform other clerical duties.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and maintain regular attendance.
  • High School graduate or equivalent required, with certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR certification and basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in Oncology and/or Radiology.

Preferred Skills:

  • Oncology and/or Radiology experience.
  • Prior EMR experience.

  • Excellent judgment, dependability, and conscientious performance.
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Caring and empathetic, with high ethical standards.
  • Mechanical ability and manual dexterity for operating complicated equipment.
