Job Overview

The Arc Ontario seeks a dedicated Compliance Investigator Specialist to join our team.

Salary Range: $20,670 - $22,020 per annum

Job Description

This role is responsible for conducting thorough and timely investigations of agency incidents reported to OPWDD or the Justice Center, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

As an integral part of our team, you will formulate investigation plans, review incident reports, and conduct interviews into cases of abuse, neglect, and other incidents.

Under the supervision of the Director of Quality Improvement & Compliance, you will collaborate with staff across all program areas to ensure corrective actions are implemented and updates are made to relevant databases.

Continuous learning is a key part of this job, as you will stay up-to-date with training in abuse/neglect prevention and reporting regulations.

You will also provide training to staff on investigation procedures, assist in preparing trend reports, and work on various Quality Assurance activities.

Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and occasional travel to conduct in-person interviews are required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop investigation plans, processes, and timetables to conduct accurate, complete, and thorough investigations within OPWDD-specified timeframes.
  • Prepare for and conduct interviews, obtaining sworn statements when necessary, regarding matters arising from investigations conducted, such as investigations for abuse, neglect, or other categories defined by OPWDD and the NYS Justice Center.
  • Provide training to staff upon hire and as needed regarding conducting investigations, incident reporting, and related topics.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in human services, business administration, or a related field, along with over two years of related job experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience conducting investigations and knowledge of statutes, regulations, and laws governing the care and treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct trainings pertaining to abuse/neglect investigations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, and ability to master additional software as needed.
  • Knowledge of investigative techniques and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A valid NYS Driver's license is required.

Location: Canandaigua, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with flexibility required to meet agency needs.
