Access Services is in search of compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to become part of our In Home Supports initiative, available for both full-time and part-time schedules in the Orwigsburg and nearby regions.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting adults with developmental disabilities and Autism who wish to maintain their residence in a home setting for as long as feasible. Your daily contributions as a Direct Support Professional will empower each individual to thrive in their preferred living environment, enhance their independence, and lead fulfilling lives. Your mission is to deliver the highest standard of care for each person you support. Comprehensive training is provided by Access Services, so prior experience is not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities of the DSP:

  • Assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in the designated area. You will offer innovative support through various tasks, activities, and community involvement. Services may be delivered in clients' homes or their family residences.
  • Implement support strategies as specified in the individual's care plan, utilizing approved methods. This encompasses safe crisis intervention techniques, emotional support, and positive reinforcement.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation for the individuals served.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

Applicants must fulfill all qualifying and ongoing job criteria, including background checks, physical examinations, and clearances.

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle during work hours.
  • A U.S. driver's license for at least two years (excluding time with a permit).
  • Must be listed as a driver on a valid auto insurance policy.

Compensation and Schedule:

  • The hourly rate for Direct Support Professionals starts at $17/hour, with potential increases based on education and experience.
  • Full and part-time DSP positions are available depending on program needs. Schedules are tailored to your availability and client requirements.
