Opportunity Description
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center and the Mason City Clinic have an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Otolaryngologist to join a busy practice of five physicians located in Mason City, Iowa.
The ENT Department is seeking a physician to develop and expand their practice. The physicians perform most surgeries at either the local hospital (MercyOne - North Iowa Medical Center, a 342-bed regional referral teaching hospital) or the Ambulatory Surgery Center located on the same campus, across the parking lot.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients, reviewing and interpreting their health history, conducting physical exams, and reviewing laboratory, x-ray, and other test reports to determine diagnosis.
- Develop and implement a treatment plan and provide education to patients based on the results of their evaluation.
- Perform surgical procedures.
- Evaluate hospitalized patients during the preop and postop period, monitor progress, and release patients from the hospital.
- Recognize abnormal patient responses to treatment, surgery, and/or medication and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
- Document all aspects of care provided and complete necessary paperwork for payment.
- Participate in call coverage as assigned.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading relevant articles, journals, and related material, and attending seminars, conferences, and so forth.
