Responsibilities of the Wound Care Nurse Practitioner:
  • Oversee, coordinate, and assess healthcare for residents and staff in long-term care settings
  • Travel daily to various facilities, with regions determined by scheduling needs
  • Diagnose and manage chronic and acute wound-related conditions, including minor injuries
  • Interpret diagnostic tests and recommend suitable follow-up actions
  • Communicate with and update physicians, prescribe medications, and perform bedside procedures related to wound care
  • Collaborate with the medical director in the treatment and care of residents and staff
  • Conduct debridement of wounds using sharp, enzymatic, autolytic, or surgical techniques safely during patient visits
  • Manage and apply topical wound care and related products effectively
  • Advise on additional services to enhance wound healing outcomes
  • Educate patients and Primary Care Physicians on contemporary wound management practices
Qualifications and Requirements for Nurse Practitioners:
  • Proof of Covid vaccination required
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state is mandatory
  • Active, unrestricted state APRN license or ability to obtain prior to employment
  • Successful completion of an accredited nurse practitioner program
  • Current approval from the Board of Nursing to perform medical acts
  • Master's degree in Nursing is essential
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (4+ hours)
  • Capability to lift up to 100 pounds to assist residents
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for routine tasks
  • Push/pull 70+ pounds when providing patient care
  • Engage in bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting during patient care
  • Depth perception is necessary for performing medical procedures
Work Environment:
  • Potential exposure to various indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks), and chemical hazards
  • Travel to multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities within the local area is required
  • Covid vaccination is a prerequisite for this position
Job Type: Part-time, 1-2 days per week

Salary: $25, $45,000.00 annually

Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
Work Location: On the road
