We are seeking a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at PSG Global Solutions Careers. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation, including CT scans, under the direction of the manager and the in-charge technologist.
Responsibilities:- Identify patients with two identifiers and communicate with nursing or physician concerning patient information.
- Inform nursing of patients that need IV sedation or biopsies and fill out CT questionnaire and female questionnaire on all patients between the ages of 11-50 yrs. old.
- Position patients accurately for all CT procedures and transfer and position correctly for anatomy to be demonstrated for best visibility.
- Know scanning protocols in depth and perform procedures correctly using protocol book for reference.
- Obtain appropriate supplies and prepare room for patient and keep room cleaned and stocked at all times.
- Use proper technique when injection IV contrast and ensure IV is working and checked first with an injection of saline.
- Choose correct method of injection (hand or injector) and be proficient with imaging workstation, 3D imaging and multiplanar reconstruction.
- Respond to codes and other emergency situations appropriately and explain CT procedure to patient and/or family member.
- Obtain completed questionnaire and proper history and clinical from patient, floor or physician's office and inform patients and families of all delays.
- Train co-workers and students and assist other technologists when not busy in assigned CT room.
- Acquire order and check for appropriate clinical and charge procedure and supplies when exam is completed.
- Indicate no-film badge wearing name and fluoro time and operate the PAC's system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archive.
- Report equipment problems to supervisor, in-charge tech and document confirmation numbers and complete appropriate forms for all procedures.
- Fill out contrast sheet on all patients receiving IV and rectal contrast and communicate with radiologist to determine appropriate protocols for each exam.
- Correct protocols are utilized as prescribed by the radiologist and procedures must be performed as directed by the radiologist.
- Demonstrate recognition of anatomy and pathology as related to scan being processed and perform warm up calibrations as needed.
- Associate's Degree - Completion of accredited radiology program.
- Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses: ARRT-RADIOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGIST - ARRT, RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD - RQSA, CT TECHNOLOGIST CERTIFIED - C061.
- Minimum one year of CT experience - preferred.
- Patient Equip (Suction, Vitals, Defib) PACS HIS/RIS.
