Pipewelder Role Overview

About the Job:

As a Pipewelder at Ingalls Shipbuilding, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our ships by performing pipe welding procedures. Your expertise in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) will be essential in sealing vital piping networks that supply our ships with essential systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pipe welding procedures on Stainless Steel and Copper-Nickel pipe.
  • Work in various environments, including confined spaces and at different heights.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure safe working practices and adherence to industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Graduated from a pipe welder program at a vo-tech school or other training school.
  • Training in TIG root and stick fill and cap on steel piping in the 6GR position.
