At the State of Montana, we're committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our mining communities. As a Mine Safety Inspector, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance in our mines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect surface and underground coal mines to ensure compliance with MSHA and state regulations.
- Provide technical assistance to mine operators to ensure safe working conditions.
- Conduct training sessions for new miners and refresher training for experienced miners.
- Ensure compliance with certification and training requirements.
Requirements:
- Three years of practical mining experience or a bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of practical mining experience.
- Valid Montana driver's license.
- MSHA Part 48 Instructor Card (Blue Card) or ability to obtain within six months.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Mine Safety Professional (CMSP) designation.
- Experience in the coal mining industry.
