Job Summary

The Sales Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless shopping experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Service
    • Project a positive image of Westlake Ace Hardware and provide a welcoming experience for customers.
    • Greet customers and thank them by name when possible.
    • Clear checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
    • Answer and respond to customer inquiries promptly and effectively.
    • Communicate any issues that require management assistance.
    • Build product knowledge and assist customers with store layout and product location.
  • Register Operations
    • Follow cash register transaction procedures.
    • Responsible for balancing the register drawer.
    • Adhere to store programs and promotions.
    • Participate in store and team meetings.
  • Front End Appearance and Upkeep
    • Maintain a clean and organized front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors.
    • Assist with stocking and facing impulse counters.
    • Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts.
    • Restock forms and supplies.
    • Assist with decorating the front end according to store programs.
    • Call for cart pickups when necessary.
    • Inform management of merchandise returns that need to be put away.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Cashier experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.

Compensation

$11.00 per hour.
