The Carlyle House Assisted Living Community seeks a highly skilled and experienced Dietary Director to oversee the food service and dining operations for our residents. This key role requires a strong leader who can ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while providing exceptional culinary experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Staff Management: Coordinate, supervise, and develop work schedules for all shifts, directing the activities of personnel to ensure seamless food service delivery.
- Menu Planning and Execution: Review menus, recommend improvements, and ensure that food quality, appearance, quantity, temperature, palatability, and proper portion control meet standards.
- Training and Development: Insure training and competency of employees meet state and federal standards, including mandated in-services, and continuously train staff on Serve Safe Guidelines, proper hand washing, and hairnet use.
- Quality Control: Monitor kitchen and dining areas to assure proper service, taste test food before serving, and supervise all food preparation to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with staff, Dietitian, and nursing for special diets, menu changes, and new products, maintaining accurate production and spread sheets.
- Leadership and Management: Proven experience in managing food service operations, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Culinary Expertise: Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety protocols.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and external partners.
