The Homestead at Montrose is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Dietary Assistant. As part of Volunteers of America National Services, we are committed to providing exceptional housing and healthcare services.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Hourly wage: $16 - $19.22, based on experience

Work Schedule:
• Rotating schedule: 2 days per week, with shifts from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Example schedules include:
- Friday & Monday one week; Saturday & Sunday the next week
- F/M/T/W one week and S/Su/W the following week
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide quality food service in compliance with all State and Federal regulations, catering to the nutritional needs of residents.
• Assist in food preparation, meal serving, and cleaning duties, following established procedures and utilizing various dietary equipment.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in institutional dietary services is preferred.
• A friendly demeanor and a passion for working with the elderly population.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, recipes, and dietary orders.
• Physical capability to handle the demands of food preparation and service, including lifting and carrying food items.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
Essential Skills:
• Assist in food preparation and meal service as directed by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
• Understand and execute procedures related to assigned duties and special tasks.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and complete online modules as required.
• Complete competency assessments upon hire and annually to ensure proficiency in food and nutrition services.
Reporting Responsibilities:
• Report any resident concerns, supply needs, or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Notify management of any health or safety concerns related to pests or equipment malfunctions.
