Nurse Coordinator Role for Emergency Room Excellence

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) role is a vital position at Corpus Christi Medical Center. This individual will ensure high-quality patient-centered care and coordinate all functions in the emergency room during their designated shift.
In collaboration with other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care according to established policies and procedures. They serve as a resource person for staff and model a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in ongoing assessments of quality patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork supporting improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy, engaging in service recovery when necessary.
- Support facility efforts to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
This role requires:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers, or Heart Saver CPR, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
