MPU Electrician

Empower Solar Inc is seeking an experienced and skilled MPU Technician to join our team. As an MPU Technician, you will be responsible for completing residential service panel upgrades to accommodate solar back feed for our projects. Your duties will include reviewing photos of upcoming jobs, coordinating with our warehouse for materials, and communicating project status and photos with our Project Coordinator and Management.

• Complete residential service upgrades to ensure safe and efficient solar panel installation.
• Review photos of upcoming projects to ensure accurate assessment and planning.
• Troubleshoot electrical or solar issues to ensure timely project completion.
• Collect data and photos during and at the end of each project to maintain quality assurance and quality control.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
• Comply with required training and fulfill assigned duties to ensure project success.
• Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner, addressing all questions and complaints to the best of your ability.

• Minimum 3-year residential electrical experience.
• Strong understanding of NEC codes.
• Previous experience completing service upgrades.
• Knowledge of residential solar.
• Ability to tie in existing solar system to main panel.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds occasionally throughout the day.
• Ability to work safely with heights on ladders and in confined areas.
• Experience complying with OHSA safety requirements and regulations.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to complete work as scheduled.

• Ability to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to correctly and efficiently install residential main service panels and associated wiring.
• Meet Utility (PGE, SCE) onsite for disconnect/reconnect.
• Pass AHJ electrical inspection of completed service upgrade.
• Strong work ethic, and excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated with an attention to productivity, detail, and safety.
• Skilled in the use of power and hand tools and provide training in the safe operation of power and hand tools to others.
• Ability to repair stucco.
