Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Elementis plc. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our chemical manufacturing plant in New Martinsville, WV.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate equipment to ensure efficient production processes
- Report and respond to safety and environmental incidents
- Assist in removing equipment from service and preparing for maintenance
- Conduct regular tours of the manufacturing area to identify and resolve mechanical and process-related issues
- Communicate effectively with other personnel to ensure seamless shift changes
- Perform quality control tests and make adjustments as necessary
- Load and unload materials using bulk trucks and packaged containers
- Participate in maintenance activities to optimize and repair equipment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary work preferred
- Chemical plant experience or equivalent training
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working Conditions:
The Material Handler will work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment, exposed to extreme temperatures, moisture, humidity, and loud noise. The employee must wear company-supplied protective equipment, including a uniform, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, gloves, and boots.
