Key Responsibilities:
  • Ventilator Management: Proactively assesses and adjusts ventilator settings to meet patient needs, adhering to established protocols. Collaborates with medical teams to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate timely weaning from mechanical support.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Executes routine and advanced respiratory therapies, ensuring all procedures align with best practices and regulatory standards. Advocates for patient welfare and strives to enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Blood Gas Analysis: Conducts blood gas testing with precision, following protocols for collection and reporting. Provides mentorship to colleagues in accurate result interpretation.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintains meticulous records of patient care activities, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements. Documents all interventions promptly and accurately.
  • Supply Management: Oversees the inventory of respiratory equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for clinical use. Anticipates departmental needs and communicates effectively to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Engages in departmental initiatives, taking responsibility for specific areas of practice. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory therapy services, driving improvements where necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of clinical experience in respiratory care.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current BLS certification, valid state licensure, and national registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) are required. Additional certifications may be necessary based on departmental needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications in specialized areas of respiratory care are advantageous.
