Informatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Informatics Specialist to join our team at Lake Health District. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in the implementation and optimization of our Electronic Medical Record/Hospital Information System.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with input, programming, and training for EMR/HIS to maximize system capability and efficiency.
• Lead and facilitate the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision-making.
• Develop and provide staff and physicians EMR/HIS education program(s).
• Work closely with clinical staff and physicians to solve immediate and long-term problems and enhance system and staff functions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or medical-related field preferred.
• Two or more years as a Systems Analyst or Informatics Specialist or related IT field, with working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital processes.
• Related medical industry experience required.
• Good understanding of use and implementation of EMR/HER application systems and workflows within a hospital system.
• Knowledge of computer systems principles, methods, and system life cycle principles is required.
