Department Overview:

The Treasury Liquidity Associate is part of TD's Treasury & Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) team, responsible for executing various elements of the liquidity risk framework for TD's consolidated US operations. This role involves monitoring and managing liquidity risk across different legal entities and business segments while collaborating with key stakeholders, including business units and risk management teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex analyses relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the financial function and the key business areas supported.
  • Focus on components of results that exhibit greater complexity, such as Expenses, Revenue, and Volumes, or on complete results for a single line of business.
  • May lead unit activities, including assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring work.
  • Resolve escalated issues by consulting with staff.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new and less experienced staff.
  • Offer financial, analytical, planning, and forecasting expertise to assist in project development and completion.
  • Develop specialized analytical tools for ongoing use.
  • Formulate conclusions and action plans to address discrepancies and analyses.
  • Analyze key metrics and plan variances, compiling relevant information.
  • Conduct cost and product analyses.
  • Generate performance analyses and predictive data.
  • Compile and produce ad-hoc analytical reports.
  • Create financial analytical and forecasting models to test assumptions and predict business initiative outcomes.
  • Lead additional research efforts, applying financial analysis expertise.
  • Investigate business operating metrics to identify and promote new opportunities or products.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent progressive work experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis, model-building, and interpretive statistics.
  • Ability to effectively plan, develop, lead, and execute projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and consultative communication skills with strong presentation abilities.
  • Capability to manage competing priorities and make informed decisions based on business objectives.
  • Practical knowledge of financial analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to utilize complex analytical tools and statistics for financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or knowledge of Liquidity Management or Treasury functions within a financial services context.
  • Understanding of liquidity risk management related to balance sheet products.
  • Familiarity with key liquidity regulations such as Reg YY, FR 2052a, LCR, and NSFR.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.
