As a Critical Care Therapist Specialist at the DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan, you will be part of a team that provides exceptional patient care and improves patient outcomes. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal department operations and timely problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory therapy services throughout the continuum of care, under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective interdepartmental relationships to ensure optimal department operations and timely problem resolution.
  • Assume the duties of an in-charge therapist, monitoring CQI activities, making daily assignments/work loads, coordinating staffing/scheduling, renting equipment as needed, and coordinating daily staff activities and code blue response activities.
  • Instruct employees and students in the principles and practices of designated respiratory care procedures/tasks and evaluate their competence.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an AMA/CoARC approved Respiratory Care program, Associates degree in Science, Allied Health or equivalent.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
  • One to three years of respiratory care experience, previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of ECMO training program, if applicable.
  • Hyperbaric training, if applicable.
  • BCLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred.
