We welcome first-time travelers with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. Local candidates are also accepted.
Rate Information:
Yes, there is a rate difference based on experience. Proficiency in telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management is required.
Unit Requirements:
Candidates should have a self-rating of at least 2 to 3 for Arterial Line Management and a minimum of 3 for both Titratable Cardiac and Vasoactive Drips. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 6:1 for cardiac-telemetry patients, which may include floating to sister units.
Shift Details:
12-hour night shifts are required.
Weekend Commitment:
Nurses must work 4-5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks. The patient population primarily consists of post-operative cardiothoracic surgery and structural heart patients, including those recovering from open-heart surgery, thoracotomy, TAVR, and VATS surgeries.
This patient demographic necessitates that nurses manage a-lines, titratable drips, BIPAP, tracheostomies, heated high flow, epidurals, PCAs, temporary epicardial pacemakers, blake drains, and chest tubes.
Unit Overview:
Patients recovering from cardiothoracic surgery transition to cardiac telemetry on the unit until they are discharged. We also accommodate overflow cardiac and medical intermediate patients.
Our unit is recognized for delivering exceptional patient care, as demonstrated by our high patient satisfaction scores, and we take pride in our effective patient mobilization.
Nurses are expected to possess advanced critical thinking skills and cardiac knowledge to provide confident care in a fast-paced environment.

All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. The pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
