Position Overview

The Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in executing various tasks, including the receipt and processing of incoming inventory, order fulfillment, packaging, shipping, and the organization and retrieval of stock and other materials. This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the responsibilities and may evolve based on the operational needs of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and finalize orders for delivery or collection in accordance with the schedule (loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, shipping).
  • Receive and manage warehouse stock items (picking, unloading, labeling, storing).
  • Conduct inventory management and uphold high quality standards for audits.
  • Comply with FDA, OSHA, and SQF regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment while optimizing space utilization.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Document inventory logs accurately.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels.
  • Report any discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with Production and Inspection Departments.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Operate and perform preventive maintenance on warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Uphold quality service standards and comply with company protocols, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and materials handling techniques.
  • Proficient in operating mechanized equipment, including utility vehicles and forklifts (up to 6000 lbs. capacity) in confined spaces.
  • Familiarity with micro-computers and software applications tailored for warehouse management.
  • Ability to stack, move, and arrange items on pallets while considering weight and handling requirements.
  • Expertise in the safe handling, storage, and movement of materials.
  • Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator permit as required for the position.
  • Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse setting is required.
  • Knowledge of contemporary warehousing practices and procedures is essential.
  • Willingness to learn to operate various types of forklifts, including Electric Forklift and Sit-down models.
  • Forklift Certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with RF Scanners is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite (a plus), and general computer navigation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules is necessary.
  • Capability to adapt to changes and perform under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Physical Requirements

  • The role may involve walking primarily on flat surfaces for extended periods.
  • Employees may need to reach above shoulder height or below waist level to file documents or store materials.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling of boxes may be required.
  • Employees must be capable of lifting 50 pounds while employing proper lifting techniques.
