Position Responsibilities:

Southern Cross is currently looking for Entry-Level Gas Field Technicians to receive training in various essential tasks including Gas Meter Set Change-out, Turn-on, Relight, Integrity Testing, Valve Inspection, Leak Survey, and Leak Investigation.

Key Duties Include:

  • Oversee daily tasks with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency to meet customer expectations
  • Organize and plan work effectively
  • Adhere to all safety protocols
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain current Operator Qualifications
  • Engage with the public and clients in a professional and respectful manner
  • Timely completion of task and work-related reports
  • Safeguard, inspect, and maintain assigned tools and vehicles

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical skills and previous training are advantageous
  • Proficient with computers and smartphones
  • Ability to read maps and navigate through urban environments
  • Skilled in using hand tools and equipment

Essential Requirements:

  • **Successful completion of all Operator Qualification training and testing related to meter operations is mandatory for employment.**
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Must pass a drug screening and background check
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary
  • Good vision, with or without correction
  • Physically capable of bending, squatting, lifting heavy items, and using hand tools

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: Starting at $20.00/hour
    • Automatic raises of $0.50 after 90 days and again at 180 days
  • Benefits Package: Includes Medical/Dental/Vision Plans, 401K, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Professional Development & Training, among others
