Key Responsibilities:- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach computer science and technology subjects to elementary students, including basic computer operations, internet safety, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and coding.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and fosters collaboration and creativity.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and assessments. Provide feedback and support to help students achieve their learning objectives.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with other teachers to integrate technology into their curricula and support the use of educational software and tools.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest educational technology trends and best practices. Attend professional development workshops and training sessions as required.
- Communication and Support: Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues. Provide updates on student progress and participate in parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Technical Support: Offer technical assistance to students, teachers, and staff for issues related to computers, printers, software applications, and other IT equipment. Resolve problems efficiently and provide clear instructions.
- Religious Qualifications: Active, practicing Roman Catholic (preferred)
- Professional Qualifications: Possess a cleared California multiple subject teaching credential (preferred), a bachelor's degree, and experience teaching in an elementary school classroom.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of computer software, hardware, and educational technology.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and Time-Management Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills.
To successfully meet the needs of the students in his/her care, the teacher must:
- Spend the majority of the day standing in the classroom.
- Sit on an occasional basis when developing lesson plans, grading, etc.
- Walk through the classroom and be able to maneuver in tight spaces between desks.
- Deal with students while kneeling or squatting, stooping, or bending.
- Reach at, below, or above shoulder height with the dominant upper extremity.
- Assist in moving children's desks and chairs to change the layout of the classroom.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be inside the classroom. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the classroom and preschool environment, as well as maneuver throughout the school facility to attend meetings, trainings, and other work-related events.
