Job Description

The IT Network Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and Internet systems. Key duties include:

  • Responding to Tier 1 network support requests;
  • Providing exceptional customer service;
  • Communicating effectively with teammates and customers of varying levels of technical expertise;
  • Assisting with configuration and deployment of new/replacement network hardware and communications infrastructure;
  • Maintaining up-to-date project and architecture documentation;
  • Maintaining up-to-date inventory and maintenance records;
  • Monitoring network resources for faults and traffic anomalies;
  • Resolving connection issues between users and resources;
  • Maintaining detailed change history of network changes;
  • Supporting ITS Field Maintenance with communications' implementation and troubleshooting;
  • Supporting team efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses;
  • Supporting team efforts for threat hunting and mitigation;
  • Managing time and resource constraints;

This role requires strong technical skills, including Cisco Routing and Switching, VLAN Management, Subnetting, STP, FHRP, Multicast, Firewall Administration, and Network Cable Management. Experience with VPN & Remote Access Technologies, Authentication (Radius, TACACS, etc.), and Network Monitoring is also highly desirable.
