Machinist Job Description

The Machinist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process at JDS Technologies Inc, responsible for designing and creating tooling and fixture components to support all production operations in the facility. This position requires strong mechanical skills and attention to detail to ensure the highest quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precision instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials onto machines.
  • Measure and examine completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Requirements:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work in a factory setting with regular exposure to physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform complex tasks.
