Job SummaryThe Diagnostic Sonographer PRN is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, interpreting images, and providing patient care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using various modalities, including abdominal, obstetric, and gynecologic ultrasound.
- Interpret ultrasound images and provide accurate diagnoses to physicians.
- Provide patient care and education, including explaining procedures and results to patients and families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient information and ultrasound images.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Graduate of an RDMS accredited program required.
- RDMS Abdomen Specialty, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or registry eligible within 90 days of hire.
- One year of experience or training in diagnostic ultrasound in at least two specialty areas (abdomen and OB/GYN preferred).
HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is a 113-bed acute care hospital serving Columbia, Hamilton, and Suwannee counties and surrounding communities. We offer a range of medical and surgical programs, including 24-hour emergency care, heart care, interventional cardiology, orthopedics, cancer care, and imaging and rehabilitation services.
We are an Accredited Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology. We have achieved Disease Specific Certification in the treatment of Sepsis by the Joint Commission.
