Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team at TravelCenters of America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy duty trucks and trailers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic and Repair Services: Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results to develop a repair plan and communicate it to the Service Advisor.
  • Truck and Trailer Repair: Repair malfunctioning parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment, ensuring safe and effective repairs.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by exceeding customer expectations and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company and industry standards.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Recommend other TA services to customers during the inspection review process, and maintain the safety of both customers and employees.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED, graduate of an acceptable trade school or manufacturer's technical school, or previous mechanic experience.
  • Professional Development: Willingness to expand professional knowledge via education and training programs.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
  • Physical Demands: Meet the requirements for the needed physical tasks with or without accommodation.
