Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Flight Nurse to join our team at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region. As a critical care transport nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and transportation services to critically ill and injured patients in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, specimen collections, orthopedic and minor surgical procedures.
  • Plan and implement resuscitation, stabilization, and transport of critically ill and injured patients.
  • Provide airway management, optimize perfusion, and relieve pain and/or stress within air or ground transport settings.
  • Promote a safe environment essential to the health and well-being of all individuals with the air medical transport environment, including aircraft and ambulance safety and universal precautions and protocols.
  • Adapt to rapidly changing technology as evidenced by competency in technology and equipment used in the patient care setting.
Requirements
  • 5 years of recent critical care experience required.
  • Previous ICU experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RN's required.
  • BSN Preferred.
  • Current state RN license for applicable state of employment or current RN license from a participating state in National Compact Licensure required.
  • Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association required.
  • Current ACLS required.
  • Current PALS upon hire or within six months of hire/transfer required.
  • NRP upon hire or within 12 months of hire/transfer required.
  • Certified Flight Registered Nurse upon hire or within 2 years of hire/transfer required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass the annual review of driving record for safe vehicle operations required.
  • Must maintain current on all certifications required by Commission for Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems required.
  • Transport Provider Advanced Trauma Course or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) upon hire or within 12 months of hire/transfer required.
