Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for gathering and evaluating financial data for the organization. This role involves developing comprehensive revenue and expense analyses, along with detailed reports and presentations. The analyst will ensure the accuracy of financial records by creating and scrutinizing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Identifying trends and presenting insights to upper management is a key component of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger accounts in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Conduct and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Understand the implications of multicurrency transactions on financial statements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure documentation is current.
  • Evaluate financial trends and investigate any unusual variances.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze pertinent information, providing insightful analyses and recommendations to management.
  • Engage in financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support complex financial and operational goals.
  • Recommend solutions to resolve financial issues and implement necessary corrections.
  • Participate in the development of functional specifications for projects, ensuring thorough documentation and testing of customizations.
  • Prepare integrated test plans for new processes or modifications to existing systems.
  • Generate additional management and statutory reports as required.
  • Assist in leading the monthly closing process.
  • Foster teamwork across operational groups and departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting.
  • CPA certification or in pursuit of certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures related to general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft GL is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent account reconciliation abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and other computer applications.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
