The Aviation Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, repair, overhaul, and rewiring of comprehensive electrical systems and components across various aircraft. This position involves conducting functional and operational assessments of electrical instruments and flight systems upon aircraft arrival and before departure. It is essential that this work is executed efficiently and promptly to ensure timely delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The Aviation Electrical Technician is expected to possess technical proficiency on assigned aircraft and to perform most tasks with minimal oversight. Given the presence of customers at our facilities, maintaining a professional appearance and effective communication skills is essential for fostering positive and enduring professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosing landing gear switch indicators.
  • Resolving issues related to exterior lighting, including navigation, taxi lights, strobes, and landing lights.
  • Troubleshooting electrical challenges associated with engine/APU starting or electrical power generation.
  • Managing interior cabin lighting systems.
  • Monitoring fuel quantity indications.
  • Overseeing window heating systems.
  • Addressing flight control issues linked to electrically controlled operations.
  • Installing and rewiring complete electrical systems and components on various turbine-powered aircraft.
  • Diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling aircraft electrical systems and components.
  • Conducting functional and operational assessments of electrical instruments and flight systems upon aircraft arrival and prior to departure.
  • Maintaining battery shop equipment and ensuring timely charging of aircraft batteries.
  • Maintaining test cell electrical systems and performing necessary repairs.
  • Updating technical manuals to reflect the latest wiring manual revisions.
  • Assisting in the installation of various avionics systems on corporate aircraft.
  • Documenting all completed work in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as required.
  • Adhering to and promoting company policies and procedures.
  • Observing all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as required by the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Aviation Electrical Technician.
  • Preferred: FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificates.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in performing electrical wiring functions and working with aircraft wiring systems.
  • Proven technical ability on specific airframes and engines in inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
  • Ability to locate and apply FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, and Notices.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize work activities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers and colleagues.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Proficiency in manipulating equipment of various sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
