About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Analyst II to join our Retail Energy Business Unit at ENGIE North America. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in researching and applying tax law and regulation in various business situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the accurate and timely review and application of customer tax exemption documentation, exemption-related refunds, and tax reporting.
  • Perform transaction tax research concerning the taxability of electricity usage for customers located in multiple jurisdictions and validate exemptions claimed.
  • Calculate and apply tax exemption adjustments and submit for approval, as required and according to company Delegation of Authority policies.
  • Review and approve submitted Commercial and Industrial customer tax exemption documents - ensure documents are stored in compliance with data retention policies and laws.
  • Maintain clear, thorough documentation with supporting tax research for all tax adjustments and complete assignments timely.
  • Provide tax guidance to field offices, Business Control, and third-party vendors regarding the applicability of state and local sales & use tax rules to specific fact patterns and work with them to resolve transaction tax issues.
  • Assist with any required reconciliation of tax general ledger accounts.
  • Act as a team member with all employees of ENGIE North America.
  • Comply with all ENGIE North America policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant retail energy industry experience, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Solid software skills in Microsoft Office, General Ledger software, Retail Billing software, and Tax Research software.
  • Strong accounting skills.
